Mold remediation safety is at the forefront of every project we encounter. This harmful substance is microscopic and often we cannot even see it. As a result, we will meticulously plan and design each project to ensure no mold contaminates anything else. Beyond protecting the occupants of the home, we ensure that our protocols protect our employees, pets and the environment.
Mold can pose serious health risks, so it is crucial that all precautions are taken when found and worked on. The EPA states “Molds have the potential to cause health problems. Molds produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions), irritants, and in some cases, potentially toxic substances (mycotoxins). Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Allergic responses include hay fever-type symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, and skin rash (dermatitis)”(EPA article)
Although mold affects everyone differently, it is a known hazard to our health. Regardless, mold remediation safety is not something to be taken lightly. If someone’s health is compromised in the home, we advise getting a IEP (indoor environmental professional) involved to conduct testing pre and post remediation testing to get more conclusive results.
Due to the biology and patterns of mold, we follow every protocol to contain the mold being remediated to ensure the mold does not affect/spread anywhere else in the home. The safety of the homes occupants(including pets) and our workers is the #1 priority during a project. All lead technicians are instructed to stop work immediately if they feel the remediation project cannot be completed safely.
Examples of containment–>
Prorestore’s Mold remediation technicians go above and beyond to ensure the affected area does not contaminate the rest of the home. Following strict S520 standards we ensure the safe removal of the contaminated material.
Prorestore will utilizes full personal PPE, to include hazmat suits/respirators and face shields. We set up intensive containment, coupled with HEPA air scrubbers to create “negative air”. Our process is diligent and focused and can take longer than some other companies. Time does not matter, what does is getting the job done right the first time.
Safety is our #1 priority and we take every safety protocol available to ensure no one is affected (including pets),
We carry the highest certification available to safely work on and remediate mold. You can read about it in our about page.
Yes we work with every type of insurance and have a good working relationship with many adjusters across the area.
This will be decided on a case by case basis. Usually it’s more than enough to contain off the area we are working in, but there have been times I recommended to vacate the home until work was done.
We use an EPA registered plant based anti-microbial spray to kill the mold. Any other products that would need to be used would be discussed before application.
Yes, the warranty is right on the service authorization and discussed before work begins.
We do not as that would be a conflict of interest. We always recommend getting a third party test once work is completed to ensure the issue is gone.
We currently do not, we focus on removing and cleaning and let the reconstruction professionals put your home back together!
Cash, check or credit card all work great!
This is VERY project dependent. Call us for a free inspection and we can give you an estimate!
